The country house, which is located at the top of a secluded valley just outside the university town, enjoys spectacular views throughout the seasons, but is especially great for a UK short break in the autumn.

“It doesn't matter whether you visit in summer or winter as the snow is as splendid as the bright sunshine,” said Meleri Morgan, the hotel’s reception manager. “Guests can sit in the heated conservatory in autumn and watch the wind blowing in the trees and even see the rain starting at the other end of the valley before reaching The Falcondale itself.

“No country house is complete unless it has an open fire and lounge area are perfect for cosying-up with a pot of tea and homemade Welsh cakes.”

“Guests have noted in our bird watching book that they have recently seen red kites, chaffinch, swallows, chiff chaff, house martins, buzzards and magpies in the area,” said Meleri. “Another guest told me this morning that their dog came across a hedgehog, which wisely curled up for protection.”
