significantly reduce costs by deploying best practice and avoiding wasteful trial-and-error

London, England, 7 November 2012 – IT Governance, the global leader in IT governance, risk management and compliance expertise, is today launching a new ISO22301 BCMS Implementation Toolkit, which dramatically simplifies the process and reduces the costs of implementing a business continuity management system (BCMS) in line with the international ISO22301 best practice standard.

Alan Calder, Chief Executive of IT Governance, says: “Organisations deploying a BCMS are better prepared to respond to natural disasters and other unforeseen events than those without an integrated business continuity programme. They are demonstrating to customers and other stakeholders that the organisation is fully prepared for disruptive incidents, and are able to resume business quickly, providing a reliable service.

“With the economy still bumping along the bottom, it is tempting for organisations to make short-term savings on business continuity, despite its vital long-term benefits. Instead, leaders should be seeking out the most efficient route to best practice protection, thereby investing wisely.”

While many organisations have business continuity arrangements in place, these measures often fall short of best practice and offer inadequate protection against significant business interruptions. In contrast, the international ISO22301 standard, which recently replaced the British BS25999 standard, offers a blueprint for a best practice business continuity management system, providing far greater confidence that an organisation can withstand adverse events.

However, creating an ISO22301-compliant BCMS from scratch can be a time-consuming, and therefore costly, project. This prospect can make seeking compliance unappealing to organisations, leaving them potentially vulnerable. IT Governance has therefore created its ISO22301 BCMS Implementation Toolkit to ease the process and reduce the associated costs of compliance.

Calder says: “Using our ISO22301 BCMS Implementation Toolkit not only means you can accelerate your implementation project, but can also significantly reduce costs by deploying best practice and avoiding wasteful trial-and-error methods. The toolkit helps you apply continual improvements and ensure your organisation stays ahead of the curve.”

Developed by IT Governance’s highly experienced compliance professionals, the ISO22301 BCMS Implementation Toolkit is a unique resource containing everything needed to attain ISO22301 compliance. It includes a comprehensive, end-to-end suite of pre-written ISO22301-compliant policies, procedures, templates and guidance documentation; PDCA guidance; business impact analysis and risk register tools; an implementation progress checklist; and a project management implementation plan.

The Toolkit also comes with a 12-month support and upgrade contract, which ensures buyers benefit from all updates to the Toolkit, and gives online access to document drafting support from IT Governance’s compliance professionals.

Priced at £395.00, the ISO22301 BCMS Implementation Toolkit is being launched today at the BCM World Conference and Exhibition 2012 at Olympia, London, where IT Governance is an exhibitor (stand # 13).
