Open to Export, the new digital export advice service from UK Trade & Investment (UKTI) and hibu plc *, has released a new infographic urging firms to consider trading internationally.
'Why UK Businesses Should Export…', highlights the funding that is available for exporters from the Government, as well as outlining the benefits that overseas trade can offer UK businesses.
Using facts and figures from independent research conducted by OMB Research and commissioned by UKTI, the infographic demonstrates links between exporting and increased turnover and levels of growth not otherwise possible. It also lists the opening of new revenue streams, the spread of risk and the opportunity for innovation as additional benefits.
The infographic was created to celebrate the official launch of Open to Export and sits on the service’s official site (http://opentoexport.com) alongside further advice from experts from organisations including the Confederation of British Industry (CBI), Smarta and RBS.

1. The hibu – UKTI partnership was announced in November 2011 by the Prime Minister, David Cameron. UKTI is committed in its strategy to deliver a digital export service. hibu (previously Yell Group) was selected as a partner by UKTI following an open competition.
The Open to Export service went live in a Beta trial in June. Businesses have been provided with content around how to trade in the USA and India. The Service is now being rolled out to include other major markets.
Over the next 12-24 months it will expand to cover the other export markets that SMEs tell us they want support for. Content coverage on the service is growing with the community of users.
