Logscape is now an integral part of Sportingbet’s operations, and they use it daily to mine and explore their machine data.

LONDON, UNITED KINGDOM – 13 December 2012 – London-based tech start-up Logscape, a provider of real-time big data analytics software, today announced that Sportingbet has been using Logscape since October 2011 to optimise their technology infrastructure, and improve uptime and service levels.

Logscape enables customers to search and analyse hundreds of gigabytes of data every day. One such customer is Sportingbet. Sportingbet is one of the world’s leading online betting services with markets in 26 countries and over 700,000 active customers worldwide. The expansion of their business in Western Europe is demanding new measures to guard and improve service levels, and support growth. Increased B2B and B2C traffic to their sites now generates hundreds of Gigabytes of system and log data every day, and this is projected to yield a total volume of 60 Terabytes (TB) of machine data within one year.

Sportingbet adopts a DevOps model of operation, which shares accountability for uptime and service levels across the organisation. Logscape facilitates this model by providing a “single pane of glass” for monitoring the entire development and production technology landscape, which comprises several best-of-breed third-party solutions and many highly distributed bespoke applications. When issues occur, Logscape enables customers like Sportingbet to visualise and correlate events across disparate infrastructure, and drill down into root cause analysis.

“We used to spend a lot of time using traditional tools to analyse application and system logs to connect the dots when things didn’t add up” said Andrew Coates, Enterprise Integration Architect, Sportingbet. “Now we spend 30 minutes with Logscape and you’ve done analysis that would have taken 4 days with traditional tools.”

Logscape is now an integral part of Sportingbet’s operations, and they use it daily to mine and explore their machine data. It has helped them uncover and fix issues with bandwidth and performance, and harden and improve the security of their systems. It has also assisted in bringing to light new customer usage patterns and helped to identify, quantify, prioritise and measure on-going investments in their technology infrastructure.

Unlike traditional machine data analytics solutions, which rely on centralised data collection, Logscape maps directly onto a client’s existing infrastructure. Data is indexed and searched locally – on the machines where it is generated – making it faster and more economical to implement than the alternatives, and ensuring that Logscape will scale indefinitely with a client’s needs.

Our customers use Logscape to search and analyze the hundreds of gigabytes of data generated by their websites, applications, servers and networks every day.
