SURVEY SHOWS OAPS (THAT'S OPTIMUM AGE TO PARTY) ARE BEST AT PARTYING THIS NEW YEARS EVE
Forget about Facebook partying into 2013, a UK survey* conducted by London caterer's The London Kitchen, revealed that when it comes to party time this New Years Eve, the 'Optimum Age to Party' is definitely over 55.
According to the survey, the over 55s make the ultimate party animals. Occasionally found having illicit sex somewhere in the house during the party, they are much more relaxed and forgiving when things go wrong. Londoners are some of the naughtiest party goers.
OAPs Behaving Badly
Only 10.5% of over 55s worry about guests behaving badly. Being the Optimum Age to Party doesn’t mean you’re goody-two-shoes however, there are definitely shades of sin lurking in dark corners. 8.8% of over 55s admit to secretly kissing someone they shouldn’t at a party and these “flirting fifties” turn, scandalously, into the “sexy sixties” with around one in every twelve sneaking off to have sex in the house during a party. What's more, 11.7% of over 55s admit that they are still not good at handling their drink - a bad example for the 19.6% of 16-24s who also claim this is a worry.
As well as not being scared to let loose and have a good time at parties, OAPs are not phased at having to cook for a party either. Only 11.5% of over 55s fret about getting in the kitchen but 41.3% of 16-24s get wound up. Generous helpings also come easy to the over 55s with only 8.8% worried there won't be enough food and 84% have great recipes tucked up their sleeves.
Damian Clarkson, manager of The London Kitchen catering says:
"Youngsters need to return to the traditional ways of hosting a party. Get help from your friendly OAPs, your favourite local supermarket or call in a caterer (we do the washing up as well!). This way you can keep the party spirit and have a stress free New Year."
Londoners are the naughtiest party goers with 34% of them spilling drinks, 10% having sex and 15% of them being sick. Northern Ireland is the most hospitable region with 43% of people intending to host a party.
*Survey consists of over 1,146 UK respondents (Censuswide November 2012)
