Amsterdam, 16th January 2013 - TelecityGroup, Europe’s leading provider of carrier-neutral data centres, announced today that the Chinese company Perfect World, one of the world's largest online game publishers has decided to house its mission-critical IT-infrastructure in TelecityGroup’s AMS 5 data centre in Amsterdam South East. By choosing AMS 5, Perfect World, which has major subsidiaries in Europe and the US serving millions of players, is ensuring that European users of its popular games such as Neverwinter, Star Trek Online and Forsaken World will continue to receive a seamless service. A leader in Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games (MMORPGs), Perfect World’s games are free-to-play and are an extremely popular way of gaming with players of all ages.

As an existing customer in TelecityGroup’s Amstel Business Park data centre AMS 4, Perfect World’s decision to expand its operations within a private suite in AMS 5 is a testament to the combination of quality of service, support and engineering expertise plus high levels of connectivity provided by TelecityGroup.

Eduard Iacoboaia, Engineering Manager at Perfect World:

“Low latency and network uptime are essential requirements for successful online gaming environments. We offer our users the chance to play games, whatever part of the world they live in, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and our players expect the best possible gaming experience. That experience is driven by the connectivity environment in which the game servers are hosted. The combination of data centre quality and network environment drove our decision to migrate our operation to TelecityGroup's very newest data centre in Amsterdam, AMS 5. We had already had highly positive experiences with regard to the quality of service provided by TelecityGroup in AMS 4 and we are confident that the migration to AMS 5 will be seamless. This new data centre will enable Perfect World to continue to deliver an outstanding gaming experience to gamers in all parts of Europe."

Alexandra Schless, Managing Director of TelecityGroup Netherlands:
“Since the company was first established, TelecityGroup has set out to provide the very highest levels of quality and service combined with unrivalled connectivity choice. For today’s leading companies in the digital world flexibility, an eye for detail and very low latency are important factors when choosing a data centre. Our ability to provide a fully-secured connection to the most important European and international network nodes and Tier 1 carriers is a critical factor. We are delighted that Perfect World regards our company as one of its partners and its data centre from which to grow its operations into AMS 5. We are certain that we will be able to provide Perfect World with the ideal data centre environment to support their on-going growth and success Europe.”
