Sheffield, United Kingdom – While most successful businessmen have a history of scholastic excellence and a privileged upbringing, Terry Eckersley can say quite the opposite. Losing his father at thirteen and being forced into care; his early years were filled with nothing but loneliness, heartache and confusion. However, now in his middle ages and widely recognised as one of the most prolific businessmen in the country, his story of overcoming adversity is nothing short of compelling.
This captivating story is told in his new autobiography, ‘Born Ready: A Harrowing Life Lost in Loneliness, Hurt, Drugs, Crime, Depravity, Then Ultimate Salvation & Success’.

The transformation from in-care child to business acclaim didn’t come overnight. As the author explains, the period in-between was a further tragedy in itself.

“When I was old enough to leave the care system I got embroiled in the world of drugs and gangs, like so many other children who are taken under the care of the State,” says Eckersley.
He continues, “I served over a life sentence in the darkest and most hard-core prisons in the country. That is where my skin thickened, my heart softened and developed the resilient qualities and the finding of faith that have allowed me to achieve success.”

His powerful story leads readers by his side as he was set free, healed and embarked on a successful journey of restoration relationally, academically, financially and in every social sense.

As a committed Christian, Eckersley credits much of his comeback to his faith. “My book focuses heavily on how my faith allowed me to achieve huge personal satisfaction and professional success. Can the simple Christian message still change people today? It seems so!” he adds.

Since its release, the book has garnered a consistent string of rave reviews. “A very good read, couldn't put the book down until I finished reading it, very enjoyable.. :) a must for anyone who enjoys true stories,” said one reader, who reviewed the book on Amazon.

Another reader was equally as impressed, saying, “This honest and candid biography makes encouraging reading. It's amazing how God takes those who have been written off, and those who have written themselves off, and uses them in powerful ways. The author takes us on a journey through the crime scene ridden council estates of the 80's, into the prison system and finally into 21st century christian ministry. This is a paperback full of hope, restoration, and a testimony to God's faithfulness.”

Eckersley now spends much of his time giving back by speaking and encouraging inmates, pupils, business people and church members to use his story to enjoy the rich, full life he has. His powerful and humorous messages, coupled with a strong personal story, are bringing much healing and strong inspiration to individuals and groups across the country and indeed around the world.

“Buy my book; find out how I did it and how you can do it too,” he concludes.
