TRACKER urges all motorists to focus on protecting their vehicle from thieves

Thieves have been sweeping parts of Kent and East Sussex in a spate of Land Rover thefts, leading police forces in the area to issue warnings to owners of 4x4 vehicles. Five thefts were reported over three days, in Sussex, highlighting the scale of the problem. TRACKER, the UK’s leader provider of stolen vehicle recovery solutions (SVR), urges all car owners to take steps to protect their vehicles.

“Land Rovers and other 4x4s are popular vehicles, making them a prime target for thieves, who may break them down for spare parts,” explains Stuart Chapman of TRACKER. “We already work closely with the UK’s police forces, which use our market leading SVR technology to identify and locate stolen vehicles. Through the power of this relationship, TRACKER continues to help police make arrests and bring car thieves to justice, as well reuniting car owners with their vehicles.

“Installing a TRACKER device can significantly increase the chance of police locating and returning a stolen vehicle. Last year we helped recover 41 Land Rovers worth in excess of £1.3 million. With thieves actively targeting 4x4s in certain areas, owners of these types of vehicles should think about installing a tracking device. In many of the cases we deal with, vehicles are hidden in garages and warehouses. Without having TRACKER devices installed, many of these vehicles would have been lost for good, highlighting their importance in the fight against car theft.”

TRACKER has been reuniting car lovers with their vehicles for 20 years, and it’s this expertise which makes TRACKER the leader in stolen vehicle recovery. 95%* of stolen cars fitted with TRACKER are returned to their owners and 86% of these are recovered within 24hrs. Unlike other devices, TRACKER’s unique technology can locate stolen vehicles anywhere, even when they are hidden in a garage or shipping container.
