"I'm happy with 6th. Last year we didn't finish the race, and 15th the year before that, and this year we're knocking on the door of the lap record."

Tim "Twister" Hastings (Team E-Lites) kept up a terrific start to their SuperStock 600 series by securing a top-6 finish at Oulton Park on Saturday. The 20-year-old Scot, winner of the last round at Thruxton, qualified on second for the Bank Holiday race and briefly led the pack in the opening laps. After dropping to third at midway, Twister started to suffer from arm cramps which left his hands numb. Unable to properly feel his brakes or throttle, he lost pace and came across the line in sixth.

The result is still one of his finest finishes at the Cheshire circuit and his team and E-Lites Electronic Cigarette sponsors were delighted with the result, which keeps him in second place in the Championship. Cambridge rider Jordan Simpkin continues to lead the way with ten races of the season to go.

Speaking after the race, Tim said: "I'm happy with 6th. Last year we didn't finish the race, and 15th the year before that, and this year we're knocking on the door of the lap record."
