• All revenue protection tools in one integrated software suite
• Fully transparent network functionality and performance tool
• Proven and tested worldwide

17th June 2013: Revector launches VocalPony – the first web-based software suite to enable mobile network operators to protect revenues from the palm of their hand.

VocalPony is a portable and easy to deploy software suite enabling mobile operators to:
• Deliver accurate billing and timing for calls, text messages and data use
• Compare network performance with real time live call information
• Identify network infrastructure issues and remedy

Available as a web-based service, supported by a sophisticated app for Android mobile phones, VocalPony lets mobile operators plan, manage and protect their networks at the swipe of a finger. VocalPony is available at a fraction of the cost of traditional Revenue Assurance products and without capital investment or any of the issues associated with implementing new IT infrastructure.

Initial deployments of VocalPony have found millions of dollars for mobile operators that are incorrectly billing customers. VocalPony has already helped operators identify and rectify errors that could lead to regulatory review or licence withdrawl.

Andy Gent, CEO of Revector, said: “Operators face an increasingly complex environment in which to protect revenues. VocalPony provides one single resource for revenue protection and call measurement. Mobile Operators and MNVOs can instantly access information on how the network is performing, can reduce revenue leakage and assess call quality and reliability – all from one application simply using a mobile handset or a web browser.

VocalPony extends Revector’s expertise to revenue protection and quality of service support. The company is already the leading global provider of anti-fraud services to mobile operators in more than 80 countries.

Andy Gent continued: “Whatever issues an operator is facing: from infrastructure break down to call quality issues to mis-billing; VocalPony provides a fast and cost effective means to resolve issues and optimise network performance.”

About GSM gateway or SIM box fraud:
SIM box fraud occurs when the cost of terminating national or international calls exceeds the cost of a local mobile to mobile call in a particular country. Individuals and organisations buy multiple SIM cards and sell capacity to terminate calls on the open market. This leads to lost revenues for mobile network operators. SIM box fraud is illegal since those who undertake it are not licensed to provide telecommunications services in the country. Consumers will be unaware that their call is being routed via a SIM box but may experience a reduced quality of call or a reduction in telecommunications services, such as caller line identity.

GSM Gateway/SIM Box Fraud – facts:
• A recent report from Juniper Research reported that mobile network operators were losing $58 billion a year to billing errors and fraud
• Communications Fraud Control Association (CFCA) estimates that in 2011 the cost of SIM Box/GSM Gateway fraud to the telecoms industry was more than $4.5 billion
• 89% of operators surveyed by CFCA said fraud losses had increased or stayed the same since 2008
