Leading electronic cigarette provider, Nicolites, has responded to news that smoking in homes can reduce the value of properties on the market.
According to an article published on This is Bristol, results of a survey have indicated that signs of smoking in the home reduces the value of the property and potential buyers are discouraged from putting an offer on the house.
The survey was conducted by Smokefree South West and found that the value of properties which showed signs of smoking, such as discoloured walls, was reduced by up to £10,000. The results, which came from responses from 823 people looking for houses in the region, also found that 67% of people would be dissuaded from buying a property which showed signs of smoking in its interior. The results also indicated that 42% would ask for a £10,000 reduction in the asking price to cover the cost of improving the interior of the property, and 46% said that the smell of cigarette smoke would be the most likely factor which would prevent them from wanting to buy the house.
For those wishing to smoke in their home but are worried about reducing the value of their property, electronic cigarettes offer an alternative to traditional cigarettes. Nicolites – who are renowned for their electronic cigarettes – closely follow industry news and were interested in the findings. A representative for the firm offered their thoughts:
“Electronic cigarettes offer an alternative to those who want to smoke inside but are concerned about the negative impact this could have on their home. Although users of electronic cigarettes inhale and exhale a vapour which resembles smoke, it is in fact an odourless water vapour. As this vapour is odourless and does not contain tobacco, using these cigarettes whilst in the home can help combat the visible signs of smoking by reducing the discolouring of walls and the smell of cigarette smoke.”
Nicolites is now the leading and most widely available brand of electric cigarette in the UK; they have formed business partnerships with many of the largest retailers to bring these wonderful innovations right on to the doorstep of every person in the country. Established in late 2007, Nicolites has grown into a multi-million pound company with international distribution networks and continues to grow at a phenomenal rate.
