Money saving website MyFamilyClub.co.uk are giving away a month’s supply of groceries every week in August to help families across the UK.

School holidays are often a time when family budgets are pushed to the limits and recent reports have showed how families across the UK are squeezed financially.

In the light of recent research this week from the Government backed Money Advice Service that the UK is a nation living on the financial edge and more than half of adults are struggling to keep up with bills, debt and to put food on the table for their children. Money saving website MyFamilyClub.co.uk are giving away a month’s supply of groceries every week in August to help families across the UK. The Government budget and money advice tools are available on www.myfamilyclub.co.uk which helps parents save and manage their money.

Gemma Johnson, CEO of MyFamilyClub.co.uk said: “The problem of food poverty in the UK has increased and shows no signs of improving. It’s hitting families hard, especially when resources like free school meals, breakfast clubs and after school clubs are not available.

Gemma added: “In light of recent research this week by the Money Advice Service that more than half of adults living in the UK are living on the financial edge and 26 million people are struggling to keep up with bills and debt, and are struggling to put food on the table for their families. We're hearing from parents who've gone hungry for days in order to feed their children, and school holidays are always especially difficult with many budgets stretched to breaking point.

At MyFamilyClub.co.uk we want to help as much as we can so that’s why during the month of August we are giving away a month’s supply of groceries to five families which includes milk, bread, cheese, butter and orange juice for a whole month.”
