The Midlands based commercial printer, Graphics and Print, are running a football predictions competition for the second season running, to help raise money and the profile of a wide range of charities. The award winning printers put up all the prize money which totals £1000, so that participants do not have to pay anything to enter. The winner of the month one competition for the 2013/14 season has just been announced as Chris Malton who is playing on behalf of the charity Abbie’s Army.
Here’s Sales and Marketing Director Mike Hutton, to explain more: “Graphics and Print started out as a family run business in 1980 and without the help and support of the local community, would never have grown to be the £3M plus turnover business that we are today. We therefore have a really strong bond with the community we serve and firmly believe in giving something back whenever we can. Our commitment is such that we pledged every one of our employees will spend a minimum of two days a year, during work time, supporting under privileged people in having a better life. Over the past 12 months, we have supported over 40 charities or charitable organisations and generated sponsorship, donations and competition prize money of nearly £2000, for a wide range of charities. This is something we are extremely proud of. The Graphics and Print Football Predictions League is just one of the many examples of how we support the community. Last season, the British Heart Foundation, Faith In Families, Fibromyalgia Association UK and Tommy’s all benefited from winning participants playing on behalf of their chosen charities and the competition proved so popular that we’ve doubled the number of participants this season. I am delighted that Chris Malton is our month one winner because he came so close to being a winner last season but just missed out. Chris has decided to play on behalf of a relatively newly formed charity, Abbie's Army, which was formed by a group of family and friends of Abbie Mifsud. She was a remarkably brave little girl who on September 13th 2011 , at only 6 years of age, lost her fight with an inoperable and incurable (DIPG) brain tumour. This was just 5 months from her initial diagnosis. The charities mission is to raise awareness and contribute much needed funds for children's brain tumour research which currently is so very underfunded. Well done Chris and good luck to such a worthwhile charity. Throughout the course of the season, we hope that our competition will once again raise somewhere in the region of £800 for a range of charities.”
The competition is free to enter and with awards for monthly competitions as well as the full season, it’s not too late to join in the fun on behalf of your chosen charity and the best of it is that it won’t cost you a penny to enter. Anyone wishing to participate simply needs to email Mike Hutton at firstname.lastname@example.org.
