Down Hall Country House Hotel is delighted to welcome Neill Walker as its new General Manager. Neill joins after a successful tenure as GM at Stoke Rochford Hall in Lincolnshire and brings with him a wealth of experience and ideas to take Down Hall forward as the hotel prepares for the refurbishment of 54 of its bedrooms and its leisure facilities.
As an experienced member of the Then Hospitality venue management team, Neill spent three years resurrecting the fortunes of Stoke Rochford Hall after a fire in 2006, which destroyed the business. Faced with the challenge of effectively starting from scratch, Neill reopened the venue as a hotel and conference centre, overseeing an increase in its revenues, occupancy and the overall standing of the hotel into the process.
He said: “It’s a very exciting time to be joining the team at Down Hall. With an extensive refurbishment programme already under way, I am looking forward to adding even more ‘wow’ to the Hall than we already have, and making it the number one choice for conferences, meetings, weddings and leisure hotel breaks.”
Outside of work, Neill is an active member of the wider hospitality community and has been a council member of the Meetings Industry Association. He is also a regular blogger on Conference News. The team at Down Hall extends a warm welcome to Neill and looks forward to receiving the benefit of his vision, experience and leadership at this exciting period of change at Down Hall Country House Hotel.
