DeskTalk Announces Expansion of European Operations
DeskTalk Systems International today uncovered its plans to significantly expand its presence in Europe and its commitment to UK and European customers. These plans follow soon after the recent appointment of Paul Donovan as managing director for the International region and include relocation to larger premises in the UK and the introduction of a three tier, dedicated European support centre to provide enhanced technical support, pre- and post-sales support and professional services.
Paul Donovan was recently promoted to managing director of DeskTalk, responsible for overseeing the company's European business, which has been growing rapidly during the last few years. Last year alone, DeskTalk achieved a quadrupling of international business. This year, international sales have already significantly exceeded all of last year's business in just the first 6 months. Donovan's role is to spearhead DeskTalk's marketing strategy in Europe, with a view to providing the highest level of support to customers in this region. DeskTalk has already invested heavily in expanding the pre and post sales support experience for local customers and increasing technical support facilities available to them, as well as taking measures to improve professional services. The company plans to continue this commitment throughout the year 2000.
This move to increase the level of local support is driven by a desire to continue to provide the highest quality service to its growing list of local European customers, currently comprising such prestigious organisations as AT&T, BT, Swisscom, Deutsche Telekom, IBM Global Services, Cap Gemini, ntl, Unisys, Nationwide, BBL and the European Commission. "We currently have a strong installed customer base and channel pipeline in Europe," commented Donovan. "Our main focus is to strengthen our relations with these existing customers through localised support, as well as to continue to grow new business in the EMEA region."
In order to facilitate the larger organisation to support the growing European business, DeskTalk International has acquired a new EMEA head office. Last month, the offices were moved to larger quarters in Maidenhead from the prior location in Wokingham. The new offices will better accommodate the expanding workforce, which has tripled in size over the last 12 months and is situated conveniently close to the M4 corridor and Heathrow International Airport, as well as many of DeskTalk's existing UK customers. Amongst the new appointments to the company are a number of technical support representatives, in addition to sales and telemarketing personnel. DeskTalk's Maidenhead premises will operate a new pan-European Support Centre, designed to cater not only for direct customers, but also for the EMEA channel partners and for their customers. "New customers in Europe account for approximately 30% of DeskTalk’s world wide revenue, which is proportionately a very high percentage of global business," commented Donovan. "This is a good indication of how serious we are about our commitment to Europe."
