IBM (NYSE: IBM) and Intentia International (XSSE: INT B)
today announced a strategic alliance that includes a joint
investment in development in which Intentia will base future
development of Movex e-business applications on the IBM
WebSphere Software Platform,* using IBM's Application
Framework for e-business. This is an additional, formalised
step in an already strong relationship, in which the
companies have addressed the midmarket business with Movex
on IBM's AS/400 servers since Intentia was founded in 1984.

Based on open Java technology, Movex conveys Supply Chain
Management (SCM) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM)
over the Internet to provide a fully integrated
e-collaboration solution. Movex NextGen is the first fully
Java enabled e-collaboration Enterprise Application Suite,
that now will also incorporate IBM e-business technology for
e-commerce solutions in the first phase of this joint
development agreement.

Intentia and IBM will co-market the solution worldwide, an
arrangement targeting the $2 billion license revenue
opportunity in selected industries over the next three

"This alliance extends an already successful collaboration
with a highly valued partner, enabling us to jointly deliver
leading technology in a timely way," said Michel Boussard,
Vice President of Global MidMarket Business, IBM Europe.
"Together, IBM and Intentia will help customers maximise the
customer service and sales efficiency by integrating the web
front end with existing Movex functionality, in a seamless
manner running on any Server platform in a growing new

"The competence and resources of IBM will allow us to
develop leading enterprise management solutions to a more
demanding market," said Björn Algkvist, CEO of Intentia.
"Through this increased collaboration, Intentia will be able
to base our future e-business solutions on the latest
technology and keep ahead of a rapidly changing business
environment", concludes Algkvist.

Intentia International AB has concentrated on positioning
itself to meet the demands it anticipated would arise from
the new e-economy era and which are already surfacing.
Intentia has developed its Movex product from a traditional
ERP system to a complete e-collaboration solution that can
manage all the demands of the new economy. Movex offers
Intentia's customers the key to success, with its
applications for Customer Relationship Management (CRM),
Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), Supply Chain Planning
and Execution (SCPE), Partner Relationship Management (PRM),
Business Performance Management (BPM) and e-business.

Intentia is well-positioned to respond to market needs when
the e-(electronic) evolves into c-(collaboration), working
hard to satisfy customers through its organisation of more
than 3,800 professionals serving in excess of 3,500
customers in over 40 countries around the world. Intentia is
a public company traded at the Stockholm Stock Exchange
