London – November 13th, 2013 – Digital Solutions company Kainos was named a public sector Digital Leader at an exclusive awards ceremony at the House of Lords in London on 10th November. Kainos came third in the Digital Leaders 50 list, beaten only by internet giants Google and Mozilla.

The Digital Leaders 50 list, voted for by public sector organisations in an awards programme supported by Digital by Default News, recognises leaders and organisations that demonstrate a pioneering and sustainable approach to digital transformation. Contenders must have shown leadership and innovation in harnessing digital technology and the internet as providers of information, key services and social interaction.

Kainos was recognised in the ‘industry’ category. This highlights the work and value of businesses that have acted as leading advocates of digital transformation - developing innovative ways of encouraging a ‘digital first’ approach to delivering essential public sector services.

Brian Gannon, Corporate Development director, and Nigel Lynas, Government Digital Sales Lead, attended last night’s awards ceremony.

Commenting on Kainos’s high ranking, Brian said, “We are thrilled to have been recognised for our ongoing commitment to innovation and our culture of high aspiration. We believe that people can tell a lot about Kainos by the company we keep, so we are proud to be bracketed with such pioneers in internet innovation as Google and Mozilla.”

Nigel added: “It’s an honour to feature in the Digital Leaders top three, particularly alongside such global names. We’re delighted that Kainos is recognised as an organisation that is helping change the way in which public services are delivered to citizens.”

The Digital Leaders awards, sponsored by Agilisys, are run in partnership with Digital by Default News, a leading online publication covering public sector e-services, which oversaw the nomination and judging process.
