ICE drops minimum load to £1 for ICE Travellers Cashcard in December

During the month of December, ICE – International Currency Exchange is dropping the minimum load for the ICE Travellers Cashcard, the award winning*, fee-free prepaid currency card in Euros and US Dollars, to just £1 from the usual minimum load of £50. Whether it’s in readiness for a trip to the slopes later this winter or for next year’s big holiday, the ICE Travellers Cashcard helps holidaymakers budget effectively, avoid having to carry too much cash, and even avoid exchange rate fluctuations.

Over the past three months, the difference between the highest and lowest Euro and Dollar rates has been such that topping up at the best point would have meant receiving €19.11 more or $58.59 more from a £700 order than if you ordered at the lowest point. Topping up regularly over a period of weeks gives you the best chance to avoid getting stuck with one low rate.

Delivered within just 5 days of order the ICE Travellers Cashcard is PIN-protected and accepted wherever the MasterCard® Acceptance Mark is displayed. Free of charges for loading, use at ATMs** or point of sale transactions, the card also comes with a free back up in case the first is lost or stolen. As an additional incentive, cardholders can apply for a free supplementary card for a family member.

Tom Johnson, Head of ICE Online Business said: “December can be a fraught and expensive month for families. By reducing the minimum load for the ICE Travellers Cashcard we hope to encourage more people to apply for the card in readiness for next year’s holidays. Topping up regularly over the next few months will not only help with saving for the holiday, but may also even out some of the rises and falls in exchange rates leading up to the trip.
