To celebrate his Christmas Day birthday early, and to support children’s charity Action Medical Research – www.action.org.uk - budding film star Paddington Bear has a host of plans for Wednesday 11 December.
His day begins with an attempt at the world record for ‘most hugs in a minute by a mascot’. Children at the school are already in training to help Paddington Bear with this.
Paddington will then head to Paddington Station where, at 11am, joined by Dr Dawn Harper and Karen Jankel, daughter of Paddington creator Michael Bond, alongside local school children where he will decorate their Christmas tree with charity baubles, inscribed with people’s favourite childhood Christmas memories.
Following this, Paddington will then spread Christmas goodwill by offering FREE hugs to passers by to bring some festive cheer to Londoners.
NB: Media attending the tree decorating at Paddington Station should sign in at the station reception located by Platform 1 and ask for Lorna Davies.
The world record attempt will begin at 8.45am at:
Our Lady of Dolours Catholic Primary School
19 Cirencester Street
