an immediate means of gaining practical skills and strategies to overcome the every day stresses and strains that autism can often bring

Autism practitioner, Gina Davies, has launched a new website that has been designed to help parents, professionals and others involved in the care of children who are on the autistic spectrum.

The new Gina Davies Autism Centre website – www.ginadavies.co.uk - contains a series of ‘self- help’ films that are designed to assist parents and professionals. The first available video workshops are on behaviour, sleeping, eating and toileting, and others are also in the pipeline.

Gina Davies is a qualified Speech and Language Therapist who turned her passion for communication development into practical and joyful intervention strategies for parents and professionals dealing with autism. Over the past few years she has worked with hundreds of autistic children in schools, nurseries and residential settings, and directly with parents, carers and families.

Her work is recognised internationally and Gina has established parent groups, social skills groups, and language and communication services. She has set up and run programmes in specialist and mainstream schools, working closely within the educational framework.

“I spend a lot of my time out and about, working with families and professionals through various workshops, courses and conferences, but there is big demand for practical information and it’s difficult to reach everyone, hence our decision to produce a series of ‘self-help’ films,” explains Gina. “Each is around one hour in duration, and once paid for are viewable as many times as people wish to watch them. Many parents coping with an autistic child are often at their wits end and don’t know who or what to turn to, especially at certain times of the day such as bed and meal times.

“My hope is that if anyone cannot attend a course or get access to direct support, they have instead an immediate means of gaining practical skills and strategies to overcome the every day stresses and strains that autism can often bring.”

Professionals involved in the care and support of children on the autistic spectrum can also use the new Gina Davies Autism Centre website to book courses, including foundation, advanced practitioner, master classes and bespoke training.
