Cupertino, CA, July 12, 2000 - Chordiant Software, Inc. (Nasdaq: CHRD) has been added to the Russell 3000®, a leading financial index which tracks the largest US stocks by market capitalisation.

The Frank Russell Company unveiled its annual changes to the Russell 3000® Index on June 12, 2000 when it issued preliminary lists of companies to be added to and deleted from the leading U.S. equity index. As part of its annual reconstitution process, Russell completed its adjustment of the Russell 3000® on July 10, 2000 when it posted its official membership list.

Chordiant was one of the California-based 'New Economy' companies that make up 36 percent of this year’s 'additions' to the list. Companies were selected for inclusion on the basis of market capitalisation rankings and style attributes.

Chordiant CEO Sam Spadafora said, "We are delighted to be added to one of the nation’s most widely followed financial indexes. We also appreciate the increased visibility with the investment community."

Compiled by Russell/Mellon Analytical Services, the Russell 3000® is made up of the largest publicly traded companies in the US. The rebalanced index remains in place for one year and is effective from July 1, 2000.
