Former President of Switzerland, Dӧlf Ogi, will launch his biography in front of students from European University and Kofi Annan, former Secretary-General of the United Nations, in Geneva next month.

The English-language book launch of Dӧlf Ogi: Statesman and Sportsman will feature presentations from both Ogi and Annan.

Dӧlf Ogi was elected representative for Berne at the Swiss National Council from 1979 to 1987. He was President of the Swiss Confederation in 1993 and 2000, and in 2001 he was subsequently appointed as Special Advisor to the UN Secretary General on Sport for Development and Peace.

Today, Ogi is an ambassador for Peace and Sport, an international organisation committed to serving peace in the world through sport. He holds many distinctions and awards, some of which include the Olympic Order, several Honorary degrees, and the Human Rights Prize from the International Society of Human Rights Switzerland.

Kofi Annan, former UN Secretary-General, says: “Ogi has great leadership skills, of course, but also a genuine interest in people and an ability to bring them together.”

Join European University students, the former Swiss President and EU Dr.h.c. Adolf Ogi and honoured guest, Kofi Annan on Friday, February 14, 2014 from 5pm to 7pm at the Palais des Nations, Avenue de la Paix 14, 1211 Geneva 10, Switzerland.
