The experts at online casino SuperCasino have shared their thoughts on news that bets placed online through mobiles and tablets will increase to $62bn by 2018.

Making bets on online casinos through mobiles and tablets is anticipated to experience a six-fold increase on the $10bn gambled around the world in 2013, The Drum reports. Research conducted by Juniper Research has suggested that the increase in the industry’s worth will be largely due to the legalisation of online gambling services in a number of US states.

The $62bn prediction follows online casinos beginning to develop mobile optimised online casino sites after the success of “free-to-play casino-style games.” Juniper Research’s report also discovered that lotteries could begin to expand into mobile markets, but a current lack of competition left “little incentive to innovate.” Report author Siân Rowlands explained that: “Realistically, only if retail outlet ticket sales slump will providers be incentivised to push distribution through online and mobile channels.”

As a leading online casino, the team at SuperCasino welcomed the recent predictions from Juniper Research and a company representative shared their thoughts:

“Given the recent growth of the online casino industry it is no surprise that research has predicted such a significant worth for the sector around the world. The sector has evolved in recent years to cater for demand and customer preferences. Many of us are often on the move, so optimising sites for mobile gambling is the ideal way for casino fans to play games whilst they’re out and about. It’s important that mobile online casino games do not compromise on performance or user experience – at SuperCasino for example, if a player receives a call or their battery dies when playing, the game will pause or disconnect automatically and allow you to easily resume later. We look forward to following the progress of the mobile gambling industry and seeing if the industry grows in line with predictions.”
