BBVA Open Talent competition is now accepting entries

" BBVA Open Talent competition is now accepting entries " and final pitches will be held at Next Bank events in Barcelona, Bogota and Mexico City


Next Bank, the global community driving collaborative transformation in financial services, and BBVA today announced that it is accepting entries for the BBVA Open Talent startup competition, aimed at finding the tech startups with the strongest potential to impact and transform the financial services and related industries in Europe and the Americas. As innovation from other related industries impact developments in financial services, the competition embraces two categories, New Banking, focused solely on fintech startups, and Digital Life, dedicated to general innovative technology-based startups. Technology startups who fall under these two categories and meet the following criteria are invited to participate: product-ready, not more than 4 years old, no more than 1.5 million Euro in funding over the last 12 months, and no more than 1 million Euro annual revenues. Interested startups should apply to the competition taking place in the region where they are based.

The BBVA Open Talent finals will be held during
● Next Bank Bogota, August 26 & 27, 2014
● Next Bank Europe, Barcelona September 18 & 19, 2014
● Next Bank Americas, Mexico City, October 15 & 16, 2014

The prizes
The winners of the regional competitions will each receive 30,000 Euro to develop a project in collaboration with BBVA. In addition, Next Bank and BBVA Open Talent will help launch 13 startups globally, taking them to New York for a week-long acceleration program, NYC Crash Acceleration, where their businesses will be put on the global stage in front of potential investors, strategic partners, mentors and advisors.

How to enter
Interested startups need to complete the online application form available under www.bbvaopentalent.com. Applications will be accepted through midnight on June 10th, 2014.
