The Professional Copywriters’ Network (PCN), the UK’s largest free-to-join organisation for commercial writers, has announced its second annual conference.
The event will be held on Friday 26 September 2014 at Haberdashers’ Hall, Smithfield, London, beginning at 9.30am and running until 4.25pm.
Last year’s inaugural conference, at the same venue, was a resounding success. Over 150 writers gathered to listen, learn and talk about the craft and commerce of copywriting. The headline speakers were advertising legend Dave Trott, direct-marketing guru Andy Maslen, marketing expert Dee Blick and outspoken Telegraph writer Graeme Archer, plus breakout training sessions and networking.
Delegates, who travelled from all over the UK and beyond, were drawn from leading brands including Adidas, BSI, Direct Line, ASOS, Macmillan Cancer Support and Virgin, alongside a host of agency and freelance copywriters.
This year’s line-up is equally strong, with Ogilvy Group Vice-Chairman Rory Sutherland on copywriting and behavioural economics, leading social-media academic Jillian Ney on online influence and accomplished copywriter and 26 co-founder Tim Rich on brand storytelling. All three headline speakers will be taking part in a Q&A panel, with questions submitted by delegates ahead of time.
Delegates can also choose one of four valuable breakout training sessions on tone of voice, psychology, writing headlines or setting rates as a freelance writer.
As well as the speakers and breakout sessions, delegates will have plenty of opportunity to meet and chat with their fellow writers over coffee and a buffet lunch served in the Orangery at Haberdashers’ Hall.
‘Last year’s conference was great, and this year’s will be even better,’ says Tom Albrighton, PCN co-founder. ‘We’ve created a programme that in-house, agency and freelance copywriters everywhere are guaranteed to enjoy – plus the chance to get out of the office and meet dozens of friendly and like-minded writers.’
Tickets are on sale now at £345 + VAT including lunch and refreshments. For full event details and to book online, visit http://www.copywritingconference.com
