Richard Fulford (29) has joined leading speech systems integrator, The Speech Recognition Company (SRC) of London, as Business Development Manager "as a result of the expanding and burgeoning demand for speech technology solutions in the UK," according to Colin Howman, SRC's Sales & Marketing Director.
Fulford joins from Computacenter, where he gained considerable large accounts sales experience serving prominent financial organisations.
"He will have specific responsibility for developing sales of SRC's exciting and unique new voice-to-database solution, VocaLinks, to the banking and finance markets," added Howman.
Fulford gained a degree in Electromechanical Engineering from Southampton University and "typifies the type of highly qualified and experienced sales people that we are seeking to assist in the growth of our business," Howman explained.
About The Speech Recognition Company Limited (SRC)
SRC is the UK's leading independent supplier of speech recognition services and solutions. The company delivers solutions that combine speech technologies with the customer’s own systems and processes, integrating technology from suppliers including IBM, Dragon, Philips, Olympus, Microsoft and Lernout & Hauspie. SRC has recently developed VocaLinks (patent pending), the world's first technology that allows database entry by voice.
In addition, SRC builds specialist speech software vocabularies for the professions and develops vocabularies for corporates, which include terms and phrases specific to each organisation. Such software has been developed for Law, City Finance, Surveying and Tax applications, with others in current development. These products provide higher accuracy and a faster learning curve to users of speech dictation systems.
The company offers a full range of professional services, resulting in a complete, integrated solution, encompassing project scoping, development, vocabulary building, implementation, training services and consultancy.
Prominent customers include PriceWaterhouseCoopers, Baker & McKenzie, IBM, Lloyds TSB, M&S, Strutt & Parker and BAT. With anticipated revenues of £1.3 million in 2000, the company expects rapid growth, both organic and by strategic acquisition, as well as joint ventures in the UK and Europe.
Sales & Marketing Director, Colin Howman states that, "Thousands of business processes from dictation to database entry or information retrieval are faster and more efficient by voice than by keyboard. SRC has gained recognition as a world leader in helping companies to realise the benefits of speech technology."
