Leaders in international relocation, Interdean, have responded to the news that a plan for Brazilian national education has been passed in which Brazil will aim to spend 10 per cent of GDP on education within the coming decade.

According to an article posted on the Times Higher Education web page, the National Congress of Brazil has passed the National Education Plan. The Plan was initially put to the National Congress board nearly four years ago. The predominant aim of the National Education Plan, otherwise known in Brazil as the PNE, is to improve primary, secondary and tertiary education. That includes the increased percentage of youths enrolling into the higher education courses available. The PNE aims to see higher education enrolment up by 50% before the 2023 deadline.

Following the investments in infrastructure, spurred on by the World Cup and the Olympics, the Brazilian government is turning their focus to the National Education Plan, which should see the country raise its investment in education to 10 per cent GDP as opposed to the current 6.4 per cent.

Globally renowned shipping experts, Interdean, express a keen interest in the improvement of global education facilities and a spokesperson for the company has responded to the news:

‘The decision to go ahead with the National Education Plan in Brazil means that the national education system will receive an increased percentage of the national GDP by nearly 4 per cent. This increase should act as the catalyst for improved education at all levels and better marketing schemes to boost enrolment in higher education.

‘The current GDP spend on education in Brazil is equivalent to the figure that represents the UK’s expenditure on education, but with goals set in place to increase their investments by almost 60% the level of education in Brazil is set to make a marked improvement.’
