AutoCar’s Audi A6 review paints a very positive picture of the new German saloon sent to rival both the BMW 5 series and the Mercedes E class. The new ‘ultra’ variant of Audi’s popular A6 is considered to fit into a category of affordable luxury with prices starting at £32,515, the least costly model available in the A6 range. With new upgrades such as a brand new 187bhp 2.0 litre diesel and a redesigned seven speed dual clutch transmission, this also makes the A6 the best environmental and economic choice amongst the lot.

The new A6’ comes with popular xenon headlights, energy efficient LED rear lights a soft sports suspension and wheels that outsize the previous A6 at 18 Inches. Despite the increased size of the wheels, those sitting in a 40 per cent tax band will pay £550 less than the previous 175bhp Audi A6.

AutoCar notes that the latest ‘budget’ model of the A6 ‘doesn’t leave you feeling like you’ve bought the ‘budget’ model’, in fact they even claim that ‘Audi hasn’t skimped on the niceties either’ with a collection of goodies ranging from automatic windscreen wipers and lights through to Bluetooth connectivity, a 6.5 inch media display and cruise control.

When discussing how the new Audi A6 model drives, AutoCar points out that the car is both ‘likeable’ and ‘hardly lacking in punch’. It is clear that the latest in Audi’s repertoire has managed to impress car connoisseurs at AutoCar as they continue to compliment manoeuvrability, break power and its quiet engine. AutoCar’s author mentions that whilst the A6’s steering lacks a little ‘tactile feedback’, it still remains ideal for those who want an effortless drive.

The car is also said to be firm in the ride as a trade-off for less movement in the corners, but AutoCar still describe the car as an ‘easy and hassle-free car to drive in either specification.’ AutoCar were particularly impressed by its potential ability to reach up to 1030 miles in range.
