GAIN and blur Group share a vision of how businesses can grow by using internet technologies

July 1, 2014

blur Group, the services-commerce company, today announces a partnership with GAIN to give thousands of companies in the South West access to its Global Services Exchange, home of the most advanced software to buy, manage and pay for business services from any device. blur’s Exchange platform helps thousands of businesses grow by giving them access to live projects from top brands globally and is well placed to support GAIN in its mission to help SMEs grow into world class companies.

The deal means GAIN’s Digital Exchange at gaininbusiness.com will offer global business services to member companies throughout the South West. GAIN was founded by Plymouth University, Plymouth City Council and Plymouth Science Park to accelerate the creation, growth and investment in high quality businesses and ideas to create wealth and jobs in the South West. GAIN users will reach over 40,000 business service providers in 145 countries on blur Group’s platform.

“It is important that businesses throughout the South West can compete at a global as well as local level,” said Julian Beer, Pro Vice-Chancellor Regional Enterprise, Plymouth University. “Providing easy access to global business services via blur’s Exchange is a big part of our mission to give GAIN members an invaluable, collaborative tool to promote business growth throughout the region.

blur Group’s Chief Commercial Officer, Gerry Gross said: “GAIN and blur Group share a vision of how businesses can grow by using internet technologies so we’re delighted to be involved with this initiative. The partnership will give local businesses the ability to run projects with thousands of service providers while local companies specialising in marketing, technology, legal and accountancy will have the opportunity to grow their business on a global scale direct from the GAIN website.”

Since coming online six weeks ago, the GAIN Digital Exchange has secured 1,500 unique users and 350 registered members prior to its official launch this summer. GAIN aims to support 10,000 businesses by March 2015 through its role in supporting the Peninsula City Deal Growth Hub, part of the Plymouth and South West Peninsula City Deal. GAIN users can buy and sell business services via blur Group’s platform from July this year.
