I want women to be confident about how clothes look and make them feel,
Body Forum, a new concept pioneered by designer Andrea Cecile Cohen, founder of London women’s wear brand number 35, is a comprehensive style seminar for individuals and women in the workplace, offering practical advice and tips about how to dress with confidence and panache while celebrating an individual’s shape and size.
Body Forum seminars which run for approximately one hour, have already been successfully held as corporate events with companies which include Barclay Wealth, Sodexo and charities such as EAVES. The forums - aimed at groups of up to 15 women - are also offered to individual clients at number 35’s flagship showroom at 46 Fulham Road, London.
During the event, Andrea Cohen and her team offer a practical and personalised presentation demonstrating examples of different body shapes and styles, following which each participant is given a personal assessment of her own unique body shape - hour glass, pear, willow or apple. All attendees are offered guidance on how to dress for the utmost confidence, comfort and style, skilfully combining flattering designs, cut, colours and fabrics to best effect both for the workplace and leisure pursuits. Advice is also offered regarding best undergarments, hair styles, makeup and accessories, and items from number 35’s own collection are available to try.
While focusing on women’s psychological perceptions of their own appearance, Body Forum is designed to illustrate how a positive body image can be acquired and how women can learn to feel empowered by the way they dress. Eschewing fashion for its own sake, the forums aim to demonstrate that clean, classic yet innovative styling - the hallmark of number 35 – allows women to move with the times without becoming fashion victims. 'I want women to be confident about how clothes look and make them feel,’ says Andrea Cecile Cohen, founder of number 35. ‘My objective is for Body Forum to guide women as to the importance of wearing clothes that fit perfectly while enhancing real shapes and curves.’
