The reaction follows a report that details the top paying roles in the prosperous city-state, and does much to highlight how attractive a place it is becoming for international workers.

The report, released by Singapore-based finance experts Salary.SG, details the gross monthly salaries of the top 100 positions in the region. They were given access to data from the country’s Ministry of Manpower.

To provide a more accurate representation of the country’s professional sphere, wages for certain occupations were judged only on salary. This means that those with huge thresholds for bonuses or performance based commission present a significantly lower portion of the list than would normally be expected. Brokers, dealers and senior sales executives, for example, would fall into this category.

The findings showed that, unsurprisingly, to be a CEO in Singapore is the most lucrative. With a monthly salary averaging at almost 38,000 SGD (Singapore Dollars) it highlights the successful environment businesses in Singapore continue to enjoy.

Senior Medical Practitioners occupy the other two spots in the top three, with Singapore becoming an increasingly attractive destination for those in the medical profession. More modest salaries were found in jobs such as a librarian, still taking home 5450 SGD per month, or an administrative manager who could enjoy 7578 SGD.

Due to their economy enjoying a period of growth, many sectors are able to provide their employees with an extremely generous living wage. The sheer range of industries that are able to do so shines a light on why Singapore is so attractive to workers from all around the world.

A spokesperson for Interdean, experts in international relocation, welcomed the figures in the report. ‘Singapore has long been a favourite destination of affluent businesses, and this report shows this has not changed.

‘What is different, however, is how diverse the jobs on the list are. Singapore is fast becoming a region that boasts multiculturalism as well as modernity. With well-paid work, a booming economy and more workers from around the world choosing to relocate there every year, it really is an exciting time for Singapore.’
