O2 and Smarta are delighted to confirm three more speakers for their all day event on September 9. The event, which focuses on collaboration will have a variety of speakers on three panels discussing how business can work together to improve their working practices, their networks and securing investment.

Peter Grainger, co-founder and Director of CaféPod; Mel Patel, Managing Director of help4IT and Anil Stocker, CEO of MarketInvoice along with the previously announced Rachel Clacher, co-founder of MoneyPenny will all be speaking on the second panel “How to Build Your Network”. The panel will focus on how businesses can improve by sourcing the right customers, suppliers and partnerships saving time and money.

Peter Grainger is a former projects analyst turned entrepreneur and is one half of the team behind CaféPod, with responsibility for product and business development. He believes that Briton’s tastes for speciality coffee have reformed over the last few years, with the nation demanding more from their home coffee experience. After recruiting a specialised team and months of research, they travelled to Parma in Italy to commission a significant piece of specialised manufacturing machinery, and CaféPod was born.

Mel Patel has over fifteen years Management experience in Information Technology Products, Services and Support and is primarily responsible for the strategic development of help4IT. Mel became Managing Director in 2003 since which time help4IT has accelerated growth in all aspects of the business. As a founder member of help4IT, Mel has in depth knowledge of the IT trends and technologies that matter to start ups and small businesses.

Anil Stocker has a background in private equity, working first with the Lehman Brothers Private Equity Group, and subsequently the investment bank Cogent Partners. His focus was on mid-market and small-scale businesses in the UK, and he built relevant experience across a number of industries including technology, financial services, healthcare, logistics, education, and trade fairs.

The event will be hosted by Smarta CEO Shaa Wasmund, No 1 Bestselling author of ‘Stop Talking, Start Doing’. One of Britain’s most widely regarded digital entrepreneurs, Shaa was educated at the London School of Economics during which time she wrote for Cosmopolitan magazine. Shaa started her own PR firm in 1994, making Dyson a household name and was founder of and mykindaplace prior to founding Smarta in 2009.

The all day conference is the last and largest event put on by O2 and Smarta in the run up to the O2 Smarta 100 award entry deadline on September 12.
