Experts in international relocation, Interdean, discuss the statistics that reveal Germany’s strong economy.

A report has recently published statistics that highlight Germany’s robust economy. The percentages show that, according to recent income data, approximately 51 percent of German households are in the middle class. This contrasts to 34 percent of U.S households who are in the middle class.

It is often argued that the reason behind Germany’s sizable middle class enjoys a high quality of life is because of its strong social safety net; there is also another reason. Germany does a great job of educating and training their workforce. It has continuously remained a competitive industrial country in an era of globalisation because its workforce is properly trained for employment positions that are in demand.

The German middle class is reported to be strengthened by a public university system. Individuals in Germany are able to attain a high-quality undergraduate education from a public university at no cost. Graduates enter the workforce without debt and with skills desired by employers.

By emphasis an importance of learning by doing and providing affordable high education programmes, Germany has maintained a healthy middle class and low levels of unemployment regardless of global economic conditions.

Most university students in Germany are required to complete an internship in their field of study as part of their undergraduate studies. Not all choose to attend university. Approximately 60 per cent of young people in Germany participate in the vocational education and training programme. According to reports, the key strength of this system is that students are guaranteed a job upon completion of the programme.

The German government itself stated: ‘A comprehensive system of education and vocational training is a major reason for Germany’s economic strength. Young people and companies can expect that their efforts in the field of education are part of a system which ensures access, quality, mobility and capacity for innovation.’

Interdean is always interested in the social infrastructure of other countries. In response to these new statistics, a spokesperson from the company said: ‘Germany’s success in maintaining a stable economy with low unemployment levels in these turbulent financial times is impressive. Famous for their efficiency, Germany certainly have found a social infrastructure that works.

For expatriates considering an international move to Germany, they can rest assured by the above statistics. If you are considering on relocating to Germany with children, or you are a student yourself, then perhaps the fantastic education system will seal the deal.’
