Camp and Furnace deploy Priava

We believe that the Priava technology will massively streamline the delivery of events

LONDON, 14th October 2014 – Priava, the leading cloud-based venue management software company, has announced that one of Liverpool’s most unique venues Camp and Furnace will deploy the organisation’s cloud based venue and event management booking system to manage the booking and on-going management of its growing volume of events.

Including a restaurant, bar, indoor festival site, music venue, pop-up event space, conference location, cultural hub and all-round surprising destination, Camp and Furnace, which launched in 2012 has quickly gained a reputation as one of the country’s most exciting places to eat and drink and was voted 2nd in The Times’, ‘Top 20 coolest restaurants in Britain’.

With the venue hosting regular weekend events and 2-3 corporate events per week, Manager at Camp & Furnace, Ian Richards explains why they selected technology from Priava to assist with event management: “When we first started trading we were using an on-line calendar based system to manage events, but as the volume of events began to grow, we knew we would need more sophisticated technology to do this more efficiently. We reviewed three systems in total but felt that Priava was best suited to our needs and came recommended by industry colleagues. In particular we liked the drop down menu functionality, the simplicity of its outputs and the reporting options.

We believe that the Priava technology will massively streamline the delivery of events and assist with the interface between our Events Team and Front of House / Production departments.”

The venue covers an entire city block and has space in abundance hired out for product launches, fashion shows, exhibitions, dinners, weddings and private parties.

From product launches to fashion shows, trade events to corporate dinners, Camp and Furnace’s corporate client list reads like a who’s who of national and international brands. Global heavyweights such as Google, Adidas, Nike, Red Bull, M.A.C and the BBC have all chosen to bring their events to Camp and Furnace.

Liverpool’s growing popularity as an event destination has also been highlighted in recent research that revealed that the value of international meetings and conferences, brought £39 million to the city’s economy this year.

The report commissioned by ACC Liverpool and Liverpool Convention Bureau, showed that around 20,000 international delegates have visited the city.

More about Priava’s cloud platform and its role in venue & event management

Designed to add value and a rapid return on investment to venue owners and operators, Priava’s new purpose built enterprise venue and event management booking system incorporates all the complexities involved with multi-venue availability, including event logistics, catering, equipment and resource requirements. Offered in the cloud as a service, Priava enables venue managers to chart and plan future venue availability and review both customer history and ongoing operational trends in real time. The result is both a boost to customer experience and enhanced venue management efficiency.

Cloud software has become a critical component of the venue and event management industry as users want to know they can access reliable and secure information quickly, at any time and from anywhere. The Priava cloud platform enables venue managers to work on multiple events at the same time, rapidly locate any event, contact or account record, manage calendars, and review confirmed events.

Editor’s Notes:

More about Camp and Furnace

We're many things to many people - a restaurant, bar, fanpark, conference venue and cultural hangout. However it’s our scale that is always a revelation to visitors arriving at Camp and Furnace for the first time. We occupy an entire city block, formed by a complex of timeworn industrial spaces – an Edwardian foundry, a former fifties coachbuilders and an industrial blade-making factory, where (allegedly) the world’s first bread slicing machine blades were originally manufactured.
Whether the bread story is a total urban myth or not is debatable but all in all, we weigh-in with a total footprint of over thirty-five thousand square feet. That’s a lot of space to play with and we certainly make the most of it.

The Furnace, which still features the original chimney and crane that was used to lift crucibles of molten-metal, is the venue’s trademark space. Whilst photographs can communicate the qualities of an industrial film-set, a feat of engineering, a hint of an industrious past, it’s actually the atmospherics that are truly surprising. From manufacturing machine parts in their million to the dark years spent as an indoor scrap yard, the quality of light in the cavernous Furnace room is wonderful – a real treat – it really feels like the outdoors, indoors.

Up until recently we even had real birch trees decorating The Furnace, whilst Camp, its counterpart event space is festooned in fairy lights, boasting life-size woodland wallpaper and a collection of European classic caravans making it one of the UK’s most theatrical event spaces, with brands like, Adidas, Google, Red Bull and the BBC bringing their events to Camp and Furnace.
Supporting the creative industries Camp and Furnace also contains the city’s largest commercial photography studio as well as indoor location spaces with a myriad of backdrop textures and feature walls, drive-in access, 3-phase power and flexible working hours.

The venue has been used for feature films, television dramas, music videos, fashion editorial, commercials and CGI.

Many brands and magazines have also chosen Camp and Furnace as their unit base whilst shooting and filming in the city both due the proximity to the centre of Liverpool and the experienced in-house team who can assist with shoot production including catering in-venue, or on location.
