A survey just published finds that over a quarter of organisations in the UK are wasting resources by failing to have effective facilities management.
The survey of over 700 firms, ranging from small to large and across the public and private sectors, was conducted by the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS). It found that around 26% of organisations in the UK are still not taking a strategic approach when it comes to FM – a business discipline that involves the co-ordination of space, people, resources and property within an organisation.
The RICS estimates that organisations using FM in a strategic capacity could be saving themselves as much as £120,000 on average.
