Fortius Clinic is delighted to announce that it has been recognised as a Football Centre of Excellence with a FIFA F-MARC accreditation.
In receiving the F-MARC Fortius Clinic joins 38 elite facilities across the globe that have demonstrated their leadership in football medicine in order to be officially recognised as a FIFA Medical Centre of Excellence.
The vision behind creating a network of medical centres across the world is to ensure that players on all continents know who to turn to for expert care in football medicine, such as the prevention of injuries, state-of-the-art diagnosis and treatment services.
All centres have to undergo a strict selection process. Accreditation is granted for a period of five years during which all centres report annually on their activities.
Chief Executive of Fortius clinic, Jim McAvoy, said "This is great news and we are delighted with the outcome. It is recognition of the very high standards we have set, and the culmination of a great deal of hard work by the team. Fortius Clinic is committed to the delivery of excellence in football medicine, including research and training, so that players benefit from the latest thinking and most effective practices in prevention, treatment and rehabilitation".
Fortius will be presented with the prestigious certificate on 29th January by Chairman of the FIFA Medical Committee, Dr Michel D’Hooghe, at a ceremony at the clinic in central London.
The Fortius Clinic is a private orthopaedic and sports injury centre, with a flagship clinic in central London.
