In the footage, hooded figures can clearly be seen raiding the numerous trophy cabinets before making their escape

Leading providers of commercial security, AlertSystems, have commented on the recent footage showing the moment thieves stole 60 trophies. A 4X4 was used to smash through glass doors at the Formula 1 team Red Bull Racing trophy room.

After reversing their 4x4 into the glass door entrance of the Red Bull trophy room, six men then proceeded to take the prizes from the Milton Keynes factory. The stolen trophies did not include the F1 championship and constructors’ awards, which were not actually at the factory at the time. In the footage, hooded figures can clearly be seen raiding the numerous trophy cabinets before making their escape. Thames Valley Police are now using the footage to appeal for information.

However, 20 of the missing trophies were recovered from a lake near Sandhurst a few days later after being spotted by a member of the public. The Red Bull’s team principal, Christian Horner, stated that it was a “pointless crime” and the monetary value of the trophies was in fact “minimal”. However, he stated “the emotional value is huge. It would be great to see those trophies back in their rightful home here in Milton Keynes.”

As experts in CCTV security, AlertSystems takes a keen interest in commercial security solutions. A spokesperson from the company made the following statement: “The factory robbery in Milton Keynes is certainly unfortunate. Especially when so many items were taken that have a higher emotional value rather than monetary value. However, having high-quality commercial security in the building can only be a saving grace.

“With high-definition CCTV, police are able to analyse the footage much more closely. It also creates a fantastic opportunity to utilise the internet to appeal for information. The footage taken from the night can be used to determine the height, clothes and other minor details of the criminals. By making use of this footage, it will only be a matter of time before this crime is resolved.”
