Pioneering medical devices firms leading the way in healthcare talent development

Pharmaceutical firms must follow the lead of medical devices organisations and increasingly look to ‘grow their own’ talent internally, warns NonStop Recruitment.
The pharmaceutical and medical devices recruitment specialist has outlined how firms in the latter sector are leading the way when it comes to developing their own sales and marketing talent internally. Many organisations have targeted their hiring strategies on more junior roles in order to secure a higher return on investment in talent.

Harriet Maidman, UK Recruitment Manager for NonStop Recruitment commented. “Medical devices firms are certainly the shining light when it comes to ‘growing their own’ talent internally. There’s a significant shortage of frontline sales and marketing professionals across the entire healthcare arena, but medical devices is one field where organisations are being assertive and looking to challenge the norm.”

“We know for a fact that while some pharmaceutical firms do have innovative talent pipelining programmes, they don’t like to promote them for fear of being perceived as poaching from the NHS. However, if Pharmaceutical organisations want to avoid suffering significant shortages in the future, they are going to have to take a page out of many medical device firms’ books and be more forceful with their talent development.”
