The couple, with the help of their friends, family and neighbours, collected over 6000 papers in a desperate attempt to win the competition

After three years of saving to afford their dream wedding venue, lucky couple Toni and Sean recently won it in a competition run by the Bristol Post. The wedding is fast approaching, and Toni and Sean are enjoying planning for a wedding which is now thousands of pounds cheaper.

Toni Harper and Sean Horton fell in love with their dream wedding venue three years ago, but due to several financial setbacks, the dream was shelved and the wedding was postponed. Sean recently found a competition run by the Bristol post, promising the winner a wedding at the same wedding venue which the couple had previously chosen.

The couple, with the help of their friends, family and neighbours, collected over 6000 papers in a desperate attempt to win the competition and their dream venue. Toni commented on the experience, saying “: "It feels like fate. When we first looked around a few years ago we absolutely fell in love with the place but at the time we just weren't able to do it… We collected over 6000 papers and spent around £3000 – our whole house smelled of the papers but it was all worth it! Friends, family and neighbours all joined in so it was like a community project!”

Toni and Sean are now in the final stages of planning the wedding. They have admitted that despite the reduced planning time, they’re both incredibly excited about the wedding. They are even more enthusiastic now that they have a larger budget than they envisaged, having saved on the venue. "We're both really nervous about the wedding, especially Sean as he's quite shy, but we can't wait to see what it all looks like on the day,” Toni continued. The anticipation of the big day is only further added to by the fact that the couple are now expecting their first child.

EventOracle, a party and event planning company based in the UK, takes a keen interest in news such as this. A spokesperson for the company commented on the report, saying: “Wedding venues can be quite expensive, especially if you’re holding out for your perfect one. We always like hearing about novel venues and the couples who choose them. Congratulations to the lucky pair, both on the wedding and on winning the venue from the Bristol Post.”

“When you have to plan an entire wedding in as short a time as this it can be easy to overlook some of the finer details. Luckily for this couple, they’ve been planning this wedding for three years now, and have an idea of what it is they need on their big day. With the money they have saved on the wedding venue, the couple can now focus on finding the perfect catering company to make their big day as perfect and hassle-free as possible. With the right service, their wedding could be the one they’ve always dreamed of, and well within their budget, too.”
