Police in Derby have released CCTV images of a man they would like to talk to following a petrol station robbery. The incident occurred in March, when a man entered the Island Filling Station on Raynesway in Derby, before he made his way to the counter and threatened the shop assistant in an attempt to steal money.
The man made off with a large quantity of cash, and as he ran away he was joined by a second man who was seen waiting outside the petrol station. The second man’s face was covered with a black balaclava, and anyone who has any information regarding the pair is urged to come forward to police immediately.
AlertSystems, a provider of commercial surveillance systems across the country, takes a keen interest in reports such as this. A spokesperson provided this statement: “Petrol station robberies during the early hours of the morning can leave staff members in distress, but fortunately nobody was harmed during this incident.
“The owner of the petrol station and the police can now use the CCTV footage to work together in an effort to find the man responsible. With a clear image of the offender, the public can now be asked about his whereabouts, and hopefully the investigation will be brought to a conclusion in the near future. If your business doesn’t have CCTV installed then now is the time to think about it, as it provides a great way of tracking down the people responsible for crimes.”
