49 per cent, said they would like to have a home security system, while 40 per cent would like a home cinema or entertainment system.

The reaction follows the results of a recent survey, which found that a large number of British people want their homes to be kitted out with the latest technology. A spokesperson from Mayflower AV provides a statement.

A survey has found that British people would prefer modern technology in their home, such as automated lighting systems and home cinemas. The results, published by price comparison website Confused, show that 34 per cent of Brits would like to have these modern add-ons, and 34 per cent would also like the option of controlling their appliances with smartphones.

Nearly half of those asked, 49 per cent, said they would like to have a home security system, while 40 per cent would like a home cinema or entertainment system. Modern technology is becoming more popular in today’s homes, and a third of those surveyed believe that these systems help to make running a home easier. 9 per cent already control some household appliances with their phones.

When it comes to the future, 44 per cent of people believe that voice activated lighting will become a common fixture in the home, while a further 43 per cent predicted that security systems and facial recognition would become a normal feature. Meanwhile, 23 per cent think that remote controlled fridges will be seen all over the country.
