Compass Computer Consultants (Compass), has been shortlisted in the EducationInvestor Awards 2015 for making an outstanding contribution to the education sector. The company is one of seven to be selected as a finalist in the Technological Infrastructure category and winners will be announced at the black tie awards ceremony held at The Brewery in London on 11 November.

The EducationInvestor Awards recognise the innovation and excellence of teams investing in, operating or advising education providers in the UK.

Compass is one of the UK’s leading providers of innovative IT management systems for further education colleges. The software provider was nominated for the award by the publication, for providing excellence in the education space and for demonstrating impressive growth and performance.

The software company experienced 28% growth in 2014, seeing at least one of its product portfolio sitting in 331 out of 341 FE colleges. The business also saw an impressive increase in licence sales of 60%. A recent Microsoft survey of Compass customers also revealed that 100% would recommend them.

Andy Makeham, Managing Director, Compass Computer Consultants says: “I am thrilled that we have been shortlisted for this award, which recognises that we are rapidly gaining market share in the education space.

“We are experiencing strong growth and success in the sector because colleges are increasingly looking for quality software to help them operate more efficiently. In turn, they are moving away from old hat and disparate systems and replacing them with more innovate, integrated, hosted systems.”

Daniel Thomas, editor of EducationInvestor, said: “The Awards are going from strength to strength and submissions are up by 10% this year. We see this as a sign of the increasing growth and recognition of the education industry, not just in the UK but globally.”

More than 700 people are expected to attend the sixth EducationInvestor Awards ceremony, representing an enthusiasm for investing in the UK’s education space. The winners will be decided by a panel of 25 expert judges from right across the sector.

Compass’s range of solutions includes ProAchieve, a success retention and achievement analysis system used by more than 95% of colleges in England. The company forms part of Advanced Computer Software Group Ltd (Advanced), the third largest UK-based software provider to the UK’s public and private sectors.
