The iHealth Next, 24-hour Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitor (ABPM) and iHealth Rhythm, 24-hour Electrocardiogram (ECG) will be presented at MEDICA, the most important event for healthcare professionals in Düsseldorf on November 16, 2015 on Stand C41 in Hall 15.
The iHealth Rhythm and iHealth Next are two devices that will facilitate the daily life of health professionals, GPs and cardiologists, as well as those of patients.
iHealth Rhythm, elegant, light and discrete, will revolutionize the ECG industry
Consisting of a single ultra flat recorder that clips onto a consumable 3-electrode patch, iHealth Rhythm is positioned on the sternum of the patient and will monitor their cardiac activity over a period of up to 72 hours. This device will be lent by the doctor to their patient and can detect any anomaly or abnormal heart activity such as arrhythmia or atrial fibrillation during the monitoring period. If the patient feels an abnormal pain or event during the monitoring period, they can at any time press the ‘event recorder’ button on the device and the anomaly will be precisely indicated on the ECG report.
Using the Bluetooth connection, the doctor can also, at any time view the ECG “live” using the iHealth Pro app, available on iPad. They can also access the complete ECG report by connecting the ECG to the iPad and share them with a specialised colleague if necessary.
Portable, small (10cm) and lightweight (20g), iHealth Rhythm is invisible under clothing and is completely comfortable for both men and women.
iHealth Next, a new generation of ABPMs
iHealth Next monitors blood pressure over a period of 24 hours. For home use, doctors recommend a blood pressure measurement over a period of three days, three times in the morning and three times in the evening. However, for professional medical use, ABPM (Ambulatory Blood Pressure Monitoring) is the recommended practice as it gives the medical professional a comprehensive overview of a patient’s cardiovascular health. iHealth Next innovates by making a device that is completely integrated on the arm of the patient and is invisible under clothing.
This 24-hour blood pressure monitor can be programmed to take blood pressure readings at specific intervals over a period of 24 hours has been designed with a universal cuff that perfectly fits the shape of the arm. The internal pump was minimised to make the product completely silent so as not to disturb the patient during night time.
With the iHealth Pro App, available on iPad, the doctor can connect in Bluetooth to the device and can access stored data, analyse it and share it with specialised colleagues if necessary. A built-in activity sensor also lets the doctor know the patient's activity during a measurement and detects his diurnal or nocturnal posture. iHealth Next can thus identify so-called "masked" or white-coat hypertension.
“These two products are perfectly inscribed in our vision of healthcare, which aims to make specialised tests available at the fraction of their previous price so that they can be used by general practitioners, rather than only by specialists" says Uwe Diegel, CEO of iHealth Europe. “They are also shifting our industry from what is today a “wearable” industry to what is in reality a “forgettable” industry, in the sense that they are designed so that the patient does not feel them while he is using them. The ramifications of this are endless, not only from a medical point of view, but also from the user’s point of view”.
A complete range of products to manage the health of patients
These two exciting new products extend the range of iHealth Pro, connected medical devices for healthcare professionals. iHealth also offers a range of medically validated devices and a dedicated application for the patient that allows them to interact directly with their doctor. The doctor can then follow the progress of their patient’s actions directly in the iHealth Pro application.
iHealth Rhythm and iHealth Next will be available in 2016.
The iHealth Pro application for iPad is available for free on the App Store.
iHealth Rhythm and iHealth Next are Class IIa regulated medical devices that as such carry the CE0197 marking.
The iHealth Pro application is a medical class I medical device, regulated health product that carries the CE0197 marking.
