Most bookings will now require just a 20% deposit and come with absolutely free cancellation. That combines with the ever-increasing number of properties available to book instantly, today accounting for over a 1/3 of revenue, to bring HouseTrip’s booking experience much closer to that of hotels. It also believes no other site is offering this level of booking flexibility.

Real flexibility: Free cancellation with no hidden fees
Up to now, it’s unusual for holiday rental sites to offer full refunds if you cancel, even though travellers have come to expect this from hotels. When sites do offer a refund, they often keep an admin fee; in some cases around 10% of the cost. HouseTrip’s free cancellation is just that, with no hidden fees to pay.
Holiday costs made more convenient: pay just 20% upfront to book and the rest afterwards
As holidays are a major outlay for families (£1,878 on average according to M&S Bank research in 2015*), HouseTrip is making it easier to book family holidays without having to break the bank. It’s now possible to book your holiday rental on HouseTrip with just a 20% deposit and pay the rest later.
HouseTrip is confident its new booking experience will be a hit with holidaymakers. In testing it found that completed bookings increased by up to 20% when customers were offered the new features.
