Innovative mobility app makes it easy to tap into car use by the hour around the Capital

London, February 5th 2016 – Londoners worried about how to get around the Capital during the tube strike which is set to start this Saturday evening* can tap into the innovative mobility app, Ubeeqo, to access cars for use by the hour.

By joining the exclusive Ubeeqo app, Londoners can access a range of mobility services including Matcha, the company’s car use by the hour service. Free of charge to join Ubeeqo, and with no usage commitment, the app provides access to a growing range of mobility services, with a mapping system showing availability around the Capital.

Matcha – the company’s car use by the hour service means Londoners can pick up a car from one of many conveniently located bays across the Capital without any worry about finding or paying for a parking space. Matcha cars are available from £6 per hour, inclusive of fuel for the first 50 miles of each booking.

Europcar – Ubeeqo users can also opt for conventional car rental for longer durations from Europcar, with a wide range of vehicle makes and models available from a network of more than 250 locations across the UK.

Other transport services – Ubeeqo users in London will also soon be able to use the app to book a taxi or chauffeur drive service when they prefer to be driven rather than doing the driving.

“Ubeeqo takes the sharing economy to the next level by combining a range of mobility solutions in one place” explained Benoit Chatelier, CEO of Ubeeqo. “And for Londoners facing the challenge of getting around and in and out of the Capital during the tube strike, it’s a perfect solution. There are Matcha cars ready to pick up in bays all around London – all they have to do is sign up to the app and enter payment details and they can book a car for an hour at a time immediately.”

*The RMT union has announced a 48-hour Tube station staff strike from 21:00 Saturday 6th February to 20:59 Monday 8th February 2016.
