Theo Paphitis giving a speech in 2016

I am very much looking forward to meeting the other business owners and getting to know the community as a whole

A Surrey businesswoman is being given the opportunity to speak at national small business event hosted by Theo Paphitis, the retail entrepreneur best known for his appearances on BBC TV’s Dragons’ Den.

Tina Fotherby from Redhill, Surrey-based Famous Publicity will be speaking at the ICC Conference venue in Birmingham on Friday February 3 2017, giving advice to business owners about how they can raise their profile through public relations and marketing. She will be running two workshops at 10:15AM and 4:00PM. Prior to setting up Famous Publicity, Tina worked for four years in-house with Theo Paphitis as his PR adviser and assisted him on the Small Business Sunday (SBS) initiative.

The event is organised by Theo Paphitis and his team at Ryman Stationery who run the #SBS campaign. Small Business Sunday is a weekly online competition, run on Twitter, which invites small business owners to tweet Theo (@TheoPaphitis) about their business, including the #SBS hashtag. Every Monday he picks his six favourites that are then retweeted to his 506,000 followers. In turn the winners are retweeted and followed by many business owners in the friendly SBS community.

Tina Fotherby said, “There are many businesses from Surrey who may be attending the event, including Jolly Rockers from Dorking, Power Electrical from Ashford and Stampastic from Richmond. I am very much looking forward to meeting the other business owners and getting to know the community as a whole”.

“I won my #SBS award from Theo in 2013 and it was a great boost to my Twitter following. As well as being invited to the conference, all #SBS winners join a Facebook group where support and advice is exchanged. It’s great that Theo Paphitis does so much to support small businesses.”

Theo Paphitis and his team host the #SBS conference annually which is free of charge to attendees and made possible through sponsorship of iLaw, DHL Express and 123Reg. Support is also provided by two of Theo’s retail businesses, Ryman Stationery and Robert Dyas.
