London - 13th November 2000 - FTKnowledge, part of the Pearson Group, today launches FTdynamo, the world’s first comprehensive management portal, which gives busy CEOs and executives from multinational corporations to SMEs, instant personalised access to the latest business and management theory and practice. For the first time, material from the best management researchers and writers, business schools and consultancies has been collated in one place, with FTdynamo’s independent commentators providing summary and analysis. FTdynamo provides valuable contextualisation of business theory and practice, real-time interactive discussion forums, cyberconferences and interviews with leading business thinkers and practitioners on current industry issues.

FTdynamo’s partners providing content to the site include among others: business schools INSEAD, the Judge Institute of Management, and the University of Michigan Business School; management consultancies, Arthur Andersen, Arthur D Little, Bain&Company, CapGemini Ernst & Young, KPMG Consulting; and specialist information providers such as 3i, HHCL and WPP.

Pradeep Jethi, Head of FTdynamo and the creator of the new website comments, "In our accelerated business world, busy people rarely have time to absorb all the latest management thinking which could help and inspire them. If they find the time they will invariably have access to the views of only
one institution and have to wade through the whole report to assess their perspective. With FTdynamo, executives can scan summaries of all the topics which interest them whenever and wherever they wish, and gain instant enlightenment through the site’s opinion and analysis."

Providing a link between management theory and real life, FTdynamo aims to be recognised as one of the world’s leading sources of management knowledge. John Kerr, Head of Business Consulting for Europe, Middle East,
India and Africa at Arthur Andersen, one of the leading content partners of FTdynamo comments: "As the time available to access and absorb the best management insight on which to base decisions becomes more and more elusive, FTdynamo provides business people with a unique personal business tool to aid fast and effective action."

Ann Wilson, Director, Head of Financial Services from Arthur D Little added: "Arthur D.Little, one of the world's premier management and technology consulting firms, produces leading reports across a range of industries. In today's fast paced business environment, FTdynamo will enable distribution and absorption of this knowledge to remain as up to the minute as possible. "

Paul Rogers, partner at Bain & Company, another key content provider, added: "Bain & Company is delighted to collaborate with FTdynamo. Bain focuses on making businesses more valuable. FTdynamo should make at least the first step in this task easier for managers everywhere through providing easy access to cutting edge knowledge".

Emma Jenks, Head of Alliancing at HHCL, one of the other content providers
said: 'HHCL may be famous for its advertising, but strategic thinking is a key part of our offering to clients. We are proud to contribute that strategic thinking to FTdynamo, a site that we believe will come to be seen as one of the world's
leading sources of business and management thinking'.

FTdynamo is a subscription based service with pricing starting from £150 ($250). Corporate licences are also available. FTdynamo can be customised to respond to the user’s requirement through a selection of ‘channels’ within ‘MyFTdynamo’. FTdynamo ‘channels’ include: ‘Latest Thinking’, the home of FTdynamo analysis and opinion; ‘Genius Direct’ where subscribers can gain insight from management thinkers and practitioners; ‘Ideas Exchange’ which gives participants the opportunity to discuss business issues; and ‘Symposium’ which provides on-line conferences and seminars.

Industry leader, Dr Martin Read, managing director and chief executive, Logica PLC comments "FTDynamo is creating a unique marketplace for leading industry figures to discuss and debate some of the major issues facing companies today. It should prove a useful tool for busy executives to obtain the key information they require quickly and easily."

Pradeep Jethi continues: "The dynamic analysis and views from multiple experts makes FTdynamo a true first in the web environment. We believe that FTdynamo is the place all ambitious managers will go when they want knowledge, inspiration, theory and practical advice fast, wherever they are".
