Chevin Software Engineering has slashed more than £1,000 from the price of the DOS versions of its LAN analysis products. End-users still requiring DOS solutions can now purchase Chevin's CNA DOS Protocol Analyser and Traffic Monitor at £895 for Ethernet and £995 for Token Ring networks.
"The UK market is being swamped by low-cost, low-quality products," commented Phil Snell, managing director of Chevin Software Engineering. "We want to give DOS users the choice of well established, richly featured products designed and manufactured in Britain - at no more cost than these poor quality imports! Realigning our pricing now gives users that choice when cost is a major factor in the decision process."
Chevin's highly acclaimed DOS products, used by companies such as ICL and BT, have a 10 year track record and are widely acknowledged as the easiest to use and the best featured available.
In addition to slashing prices, Chevin is assisting its reseller, PTC, in an upgrade scheme aimed at users of alternative DOS products wishing to switch to Chevin's CNA range of analysis and monitoring tools. Upgrade prices start at £495 for the DOS products and £895 for the Windows Analyser. Readers interested in switching to Chevin's analysis products should call Karen Dodson, Sales Manager at PTC Networking (01438 741222) for more information.
"It has always struck us as a shame that many DOS users will put up with sub-standard tools in order to keep their costs down. This scheme will give them an opportunity to obtain Chevin's high-quality products while still meeting their financial constraints," concluded Denis Laverty, marketing director at Chevin.
Based in Otley, West Yorkshire, Chevin Software Engineering is the leading UK manufacturer of LAN analysis tools.
