CacheFlow brings channel support to Europe through new headquarters in the UK Wednesday 22 November 2000 PDF Print Second quarter sales figures support the move CacheFlow, the intelligent content networking company, has opened a new European Headquarters, in Camberley, England. Its second quarter sales figures, announced today, support the move, indicating that around two thirds of the company’s revenue comes from Europe and Asia. To help support the growing market for content intelligent networking devices, estimated to be worth $4bn in the next four years, the move to premises outside London will broaden CacheFlow’s world-wide distribution channel and establish a dedicated sales and technical support unit for its products outside the US. Working with CacheFlow’s existing support units in the US and Japan, the new UK facility will help deliver technical support services for customers and channel partners twenty four hours a day. In addition to installation help, consulting services, configuration trouble-shooting, and a range of technology and product-related courses, CacheFlow will provide customers with a service to monitor the performance of network caches to help pre-empt technical problems on their networks. " As the level of Internet traffic rises daily so does our commitment to support the rising concern for businesses to deliver with speed, reliability and accuracy the right content to their customers at the right time, " said Greg Dumas, VP EMEA, CacheFlow Inc. "More than 60% of CacheFlow's revenue in the second quarter was from outside the US suggesting that the need for bringing content closer to the user has even greater relevance outside America. Establishing a larger headquarters for CacheFlow in Europe will help us broaden our world-wide distribution channel and help focus our support for businesses in Europe to ensure we fulfil our growing commitments in the region", added Dumas. CacheFlow's enterprise business is 64% of total business worldwide, demonstrating that caching is being widely deployed by enterprises to improve employee productivity, deploy streaming without creating network problems and saving WAN bandwidth. CacheFlow also marks its second quarter results with strategic wins in channel and technology partnerships. Ericsson, one of Europe’s two biggest mobile operators, has signed a global reseller agreement with CacheFlow. CacheFlow's market leading content delivery products will work with Ericsson's high-performance IP backbone equipment to create content delivery solutions for new content types like WAP and streaming media. Ericsson will resell CacheFlow's technology to mobile and fixed service providers, enabling them to offer faster Internet services to businesses and consumers. CacheFlow is the first to release optimised appliances to accelerate and scale the server-side performance of high-traffic web sites. CacheFlow’s Server Accelerator 700 and 7000 series enable website owners to serve 5-10 times more content through their existing server and network infrastructure and cut user response times by up to 80 per cent. With CacheFlow’s recent acquisition of Entera, a provider of standards-based streaming content distribution technologies, the company has extended its product offering to include the delivery of end-to-end streaming content management appliances. CacheFlow can now help customers scale their existing networks to deliver media rich web content and provide technical expertise to businesses using all the major streaming formats, including broadcast and video-on-demand applications. About CacheFlow CacheFlow is focused on building a new layer of content intelligent infrastructure that makes the Internet content-smart.
