The world’s first food website dedicated to the traditional cuisine of Europe is launched this month. features a colourful selection of carefully chosen three course meals, each with accompanying wine recommendations. We think it’s worth a look.

Meals have been selected from each region of every country in the European Union. There are 18 classic meals featured from Italy including taste tingling grilled swordfish steak from Calabria; England, with ten regions, includes the infamous Roast Beef and Yorkshire pudding; and from Switzerland there is a mouth-watering fondue and an artichoke casserole from the wine growing Ticino region.

This new site also has a shop dedicated to Europe’s best kitchen and dining ware, and stocks of all the fine European wines recommended on the menus for you to buy. There are also links to cooking schools, gourmet food suppliers and travel companies, cookery books and magazines.

In the coming months, eat-europe’s site will have an expanded section devoted to Europe¹s classic dishes from chefs at selected top hotel restaurants, including The Palace Hotel in Helsinki, Finland; The Lapa Palace in Lisbon, Portugal and The Lion and Lambe Inn, near Cambridge, England.

Publishing expert Ian Buchanan founded the first online food site dedicated to European cuisine in 1999. With institutional and private investor backing, launched in October 2000 with the ambition of becoming the first choice website for traditional European recipes and culinary products for food fans around the world.
